Dirtybird Records is an independent electronic music label founded in San Francisco in 2005 by Barclay Crenshaw, Justin Martin and Christian Martin. Emerging from a series of impromptu sunset parties in Golden Gate Park, the label became synonymous with its signature “tech-funk” sound, a playful blend of house, techno, and bass music driven by chunky low-end grooves and irreverent energy. Dirtybird’s early releases helped define a distinct West Coast sound within global dance culture, prioritizing originality, humor, and crowd-friendly experimentation over strict genre conventions.

Over the next two decades, Dirtybird evolved into a full-fledged creative ecosystem encompassing music, events, and a fiercely loyal community. Its annual Dirtybird Campout and BBQ series turned label gatherings into festival experiences that celebrate inclusion, spontaneity, and fun.
